Why do i keep getting told i dont have bad eyesight?

In many, many cases people with Astigmatism (Including Myself, having a very high Astigmatism Rx) can see things very, very well. What many people don't get is that Astigmatism, unlike Myopia and Hyperopia, is going to cause very different effects in different people. Astigmatism is a term used for a misshapen cornea. Not every case is the same, so some people with a very small Rx for astigmatism can't see a thing while some people like myself with a very large Rx can see almost 20/20. Then there are countless shades of gray in between. It's most common for people with somewhat light cases of astigmatism to be able to see just fine, so the staff at your Optometrists office may just be overgeneralizing this to everybody with astigmatism. If you are the exception to the rule, don't take offense. Just be glad that gles can help.
