A question regarding yahoo messenger! I need help! 10 points! =)?

ok..i have never really used a webcam on my yahoo messenger so i just wanted to ask a question to clear my doubts...i had gone over to my friend's place yesterday afternoon and she was chatting with a girl from cl that both of us hate! lets call her 'xyz' ok so my friend was chatting with xyz and xyz's webcam was on..also my friend had told xyz that she was unwell as she ddnt wanna go shopping with her! also at that time i was at my friends place and i was telling her what to write..as in what she should say bon messenger to xyz..so my question is if my friend's webcam was not switched on and if xyz did not send her a webcam request but if xyz's webcam was on could she still see me and my friend?! thanks! =)
