My cat bit me hard is a little bruising and swelling normal?

He was scared and at the vet's yesterday for shots. Anyway just minor bruising and swelling. He bit the first (top) joint of my pinkie finger and to say I am small framed (very). Bite is not hoe and no read streaks or pus. Looks good really.
