WOMEN ONLY. Tubular Disorder...?

I went to my doctor about my uneven and she diagnosed me with Tubular Disorder. I am strongly considering surgery (this will be no where near cosmetic, only for medical purposes). I'll be out for over a week to have the surgery and to recover, but I have one problem... When people ask why I was out for so long (they will), what should I say? To my close friends I'll tell them the truth, but what about acquaintances? I'll say I had surgery, but they'll ask further. It's not like I can say I got heart surgery because that's a huge deal, yet I can't say I got a birthmark removed because that's too minor.
