Old Horse Movie.. Palomino stallion, rain?

I honest to god cant remember ANYTHING about this movie, besides it was an older women telling the story, and at the end of the story it was raining and she said "Sometimes on stormy afternoons(nights/days maybe?) you can still see him.." . I remember the main horse in it was a plaomino stallion. The movie took place on some mountains and the horses were wild. It was a real-movie, not animated. any ideas?
